IVERSON’S SCULPTURE IS THE 10TH TO BE INSTALLED OUTSIDE THE PENN MEDICINE PHILADELPHIA 76ERS TRAINING COMPLEX IN CAMDEN

SCULPTURE UNVEIL SLATED FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2024

PHILADELPHIA – MARCH 1, 2024 – The Philadelphia 76ers will host a sculpture unveiling ceremony honoring Allen Iverson on Friday, April 12 at Penn Medicine Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex. As one of the most decorated athletes ever to play for the organization, Iverson was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016 and selected as the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2001. This announcement comes on the 10th anniversary of Iverson’s No. 3 being retired by the franchise.

Named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 1997, Iverson spent his first 12 NBA seasons with Philadelphia, after the franchise selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. The 15-year pro was named an All-Star 11 times, received seven All-NBA selections, was a four-time NBA scoring champion, and led the league in steals on three occasions. Iverson, a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, returned to play his final NBA season with the 76ers in 2010.

During his MVP season in 2000-01, Iverson averaged 31.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2.5 steals in 41.9 minutes per game, leading the NBA in both points and steals per game. Iverson has the ninth-highest scoring average in league history (26.7) and owns the third-highest scoring average in playoff history (29.7), trailing only Hall of Famer Michael Jordan and Dallas’ Luka Dončić. He led the league in steals in three consecutive seasons (2000-03) and ranks eighth in NBA history in steals per game (2.17).

Throughout Iverson’s illustrious career with the 76ers, he helped the team reach the playoffs six times, including an NBA Finals appearance in 2001. During his time with the franchise, he tallied 27.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.3 steals in 41.4 minutes per game.

Iverson was named an NBA All-Star in seven straight seasons from 2000-06 while being named the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player in both 2001 and 2005.

One of the most iconic 76ers of all-time, Iverson ranks in the top five in franchise history in total three-pointers made (first), points (second), steals (second), free throws made (second), minutes played (second), field goals made (third), and assists (third). His total points (19,931) as a 76er are second only to Hall of Famer Hal Greer (21,586). In 1996-97, he set rookie franchise records in total points (1,787), field goals made (625), and three-point field goals (155). Iverson also holds the franchise record for all-time 30-point games (303) and 40-point games (76) while ranking second in all-time 50-point games (10), behind only Wilt Chamberlain (11).

Iverson’s sculpture will join fellow 76ers legends Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain, Maurice Cheeks, Billy Cunningham, Julius Erving, Hal Greer, Bobby Jones, Moses Malone, and Dolph Schayes along 76ers Legends Walk at the Penn Medicine Philadelphia 76ers Training Complex.

“It’s always an honor to contribute to 76ers Legends Walk and continually help bring history to life for such a storied franchise,” sculptor Chad Fisher said. “Allen Iverson was a game-changer, a true 76er who every Philadelphian worshipped, and I’m thrilled to unveil a sculpture of the MVP.”

Fisher has created the nine sculptures that currently stand on Legends Walk, honoring some of the 76ers greatest legends. Iverson will be his 10th. A native to the area, Fisher’s work extends far beyond Pennsylvania. He created multiple sculptures for the Chicago Bears and has been recognized as an ARC Living Master Artist, an elected member of The National Sculpture Society,

Sixers Youth Foundation Gala returns after raising $1.5 million last year, most in Gala's history

PHILADELPHIA — DEC. 12, 2023 —&nbsp;The Philadelphia 76ers announced today details for its sixth annual Sixers Youth Foundation Gala on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Please Touch Museum (4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia, PA 19131). Proceeds from the event will support the Sixers Youth Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to bringing positive, meaningful change through the sport of basketball to the lives of young people in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Last year, the Sixers Youth Foundation raised more than $1.5 million, the most ever in the Gala’s five-year run.

This year, the Gala will celebrate “50 Years of Hip Hop,” showcasing its evolution through live entertainment. 76ers players, executives, and alumni will join Franklin, the team’s mascot, and Squad 76 at the museum, celebrating with those in attendance. Philadelphia 76ers Announce Details for Sixth Annual Sixers Youth Foundation Gala

The 76ers defeated the Pacers, 137-126, marking the team's eighth consecutive victory. Philadelphia's 8-1 record marks the 10th time in team history -- and the first time since the 2000-01 season, that the 76ers have won eight of their first nine games to open a campaign (Stathead). 

Philadelphia improved to 6-0 at home this season, marking the third time the 76ers have compiled a home winning streak of six or more contests since the 2020-21 season.&nbsp;

The 76ers produced 137 points on 50.5% shooting, marking the team's second game this season with at least 135 points on 50 percent shooting (Nov. 6 vs. WAS). That is tied with Indiana for most such games in the league in 2022-23 (Stathead).

JOEL EMBIID (26 points, 8-12 FG, 10-12 FT) and TYRESE MAXEY (25 points, 10-16 FG, 4-7 3FG) combined for 51 of the 76ers’ 69 points in the first half, making them the first pair of teammates to both score at least 25 points in a single half in the play-by-play era (since 1997-98). Embiid and Maxey are the eighth set of teammates to accomplish this feat league wide (Elias Sports Bureau). 

Maxey scored a career-high 50 points on 20-of-32 shooting (7-11 3-PT), to go along with seven rebounds and five assists, making him the sixth player in franchise history to produce at least 50 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a single game. He joins Hall of Famers WILT CHAMBERLAIN, HAL GREER and ALLEN IVERSON, along with DANA BARROS and Embiid as the only 76ers to accomplish that feat.  

"Yeah, I think Joel [Embiid] wanted me to get 50 (points) more than I think myself did" Maxey said. "He was going to grab the ball and was like, ‘You are going to shoot this basketball.’ I just appreciate my teammates, appreciate the fans, coaching staff. It was a great night. We got the win and that’s what matters the most."

Maxey and Iverson are the only two players in franchise history to tally at least 50 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a single game under the age of 24&nbsp;(Stathead).&nbsp;

Since 1973-74 (when blocked shots were first tracked), Maxey joins&nbsp;ANTHONY DAVIS&nbsp;(Oct. 26, 2016) and Hall of Famer&nbsp;KOBE BRYANT&nbsp;(Feb. 18, 2003) as the only players aged 23-or-young with a stat line of at least 50 points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks (Elias Stats Bureau).&nbsp;

Maxey's 50-point outing also marked his third straight game with at least 25 points, matching his career high.&nbsp;He is averaging 34.7 points during this three-game stretch.&nbsp;

Embiid's 37 point tonight represented the 11,000th&nbsp;point of his career,&nbsp;making him the seventh player in team history to reach that milestone.&nbsp;&nbsp;By doing so in his 403rd&nbsp;NBA game, he joins the likes of&nbsp;KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR, RICK BARRY, ELGIN BAYLOR, WILT CHAMBERLAIN, GEORGE GERVIN LEBRON JAMES, MICHAEL JORDAN, BOB MCADOO, OSCAR ROBERTSON&nbsp;and&nbsp;JERRY WEST&nbsp;as the only players in NBA history to tally 11,000 points in as many games or fewer (Stathead/Elias Stats Bureau).&nbsp;

Nineteen of Embiid’s 37 points came in the first quarter on 6-of-8 shooting (7-8 FT), good for the second-highest scoring opening quarter in the NBA this season&nbsp;(ties&nbsp;ZACH LAVINE - 19, Oct. 28),&nbsp;per(Stathead).&nbsp;

Embiid produced 37 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists in 33 minutes, marking the 29th&nbsp;game of at least 35 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in his NBA career. Those 29 games represent the second-most in franchise history&nbsp;(35 Wilt Chamberlain).&nbsp;His three such games through nine contests in 2022-23 lead all NBA players this season&nbsp;(Stathead).&nbsp;&nbsp;

Embiid has now tallied at least 25 points and 10 rebounds in seven consecutive games, marking the third such streak of his career.&nbsp;Only Hall of famer Wilt Chamberlain has done so more times (seven such streaks), per Stathead.&nbsp;

Maxey Scores 50, 76ers Beat Pacers Sunday for Eighth Straight Win

Part of season-long 'Stars and Stripes' initiative

76ers will recognize more than 500 local military members at Sunday's game vs. Indiana

PHILADELPHIA — NOV. 10, 2023 — The Philadelphia 76ers announced today details for its annual “Stars & Stripes” initiative, in partnership with Toyota. As part of the campaign, the 76ers will host Military Appreciation Night, presented by Toyota, on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. ET against the Indiana Pacers.

The NBA, its teams, and its players have a long history of collaborating with the military. The 76ers and Toyota’s annual “Stars & Stripes” initiative enhances the NBA’s mission to honor the military and their families, veteran-serving organizations, and retired servicemen and women.

“The 76ers salute all service men and women who protect our freedom, and we look forward to recognizing their bravery on this special night,” said Owen Morin, Senior Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. “We are proud to team up with Toyota this Military Appreciation Month to honor these individuals and their heroic efforts with several initiatives throughout November.”

Stars & Stripes Basketball Clinic, presented by Toyota: The “Stars & Stripes” initiative tips off with The Stars & Stripes Clinic, a pre-game youth basketball session that the 76ers and Toyota will be hosting for more than 40 youth participants of military families from the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Jr. 76ers Coaches will team up with Franklin, the team’s mascot, 76ers Alum Marc Jackson, and Squad 76 in performing a series of basketball drills at The Center.

Military Appreciation Night, presented by Toyota, Celebrations and Honors: The 76ers and Toyota will celebrate more than 500 active and retired service men and women with tickets to the game, courtesy of Toyota. Prior to the game, local veterans will assist in unveiling a 1,700-square-foot American flag across the court. The 76ers will also provide Toyota Ambassadors Navy LT. Bradley Snyder and Army LT. Melissa Stockwell with on-court access to join the Captain’s Huddle and present the game ball to the referees. Both LT Snyder and LT Stockwell will serve as honorary captains for the game that evening.

Naval LT Snyder is a retired U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officer who joined Hiring Our Heroes as an Ambassador in 2019. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2006 with a degree in Naval Architecture. LT Snyder deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, where he sustained complete vision loss as a result of an explosion. Drawn to the pool as a part of the rehabilitation process, LT Snyder’s determination to succeed pushed him to become a three-time Paralympian and an eight-time medalist.

Army LT Stockwell joined Hiring Our Heroes and Toyota as an Ambassador in 2020. LT Stockwell joined the Army in 2002 following her graduation from the University of Colorado. Two years later, she became the first female soldier in U.S. history to lose a limb in active combat after a roadside bomb struck her Humvee during a deployment to Iraq. She is a two-time U.S. Paralympian, competing first in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics in swimming and later in the 2016 Rio Paralympics, where she won a bronze medal in triathlon. She is also a three-time world champion in triathlon.

Throughout the game, highlights of an exclusive conversation between Mo Bamba and LT. Stockwell will be featured on the in-arena video board. Clips of the discussion will also be shared on @sixers and @sixersstrong social media platforms on Nov. 11.

At halftime, active servicemembers from each branch of the military will present customized jerseys to local veterans from equivalent military branches. Also, at halftime, clips from the “Stars and Stripes Sit Down” with Mo Bamba and LT Stockwell will be aired.

76ers coaches will wear commemorative “Stars & Stripes” lapel pins in conjunction with Military Appreciation Night, presented by Toyota, while 76ers ENT, Franklin, and Squad 76 will don military-themed gear throughout the evening. 76ers fans will have the opportunity to sign a 16-foot “Thank You For Your Service” banner, located in the Broad Street Atrium. Additionally, local military recruitment offices tables will be present on the concourse at the 11th Street Atrium.

Season of Giving Event, presented by Toyota (Nov. 20): In correlation with Military Appreciation Night, the 76ers and Toyota will host a Season of Giving event on Monday, Nov. 20, in partnership with the Battleship New Jersey and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. Select 76ers players and members of the coaching staff will join staff members from both the 76ers and Toyota to serve 150 servicemembers and their families with a Thanksgiving dinner for the holiday. Military Appreciation Night Details Announced by Philadelphia 76ers and Toyota

The 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics, 106-103, to complete a perfect 5-0 homestand. Philadelphia's six consecutive wins represents the longest winning streak in the NBA this season. 

Philadelphia's 6-1 start represents its best start for the 76ers since the start of the 2020-21 season (Stathead).&nbsp;

The 76ers hold the best home record in the Eastern Conference (5-0). Philadelphia boasts a plus-minus of +15.2 at home, good for second in the East and fourth in the Association (NBA.com/stats).&nbsp;

JOEL EMBIID&nbsp;(27 points, 10-20 FG) and&nbsp;TYRESE MAXEY&nbsp;(25 points) combined for 52 of the team's points.&nbsp;

Embiid scored 10 of his 27 points in the opening quarter, and is currently averaging an Eastern Conference-best 9.1 points in the first quarter (2nd in NBA). 

Embiid added in 10 rebounds and four blocks, marking the fifth time in seven games this season that he's tallied at least 25 points and 10 rebounds.&nbsp;

The Cameroon native has scored at least 25 points and blocked four shots twice, joining ANTHONY DAVIS as the only two players with multiple such games this year (Stathead). 

"We did some really good things that we wanted to do. We had a lot of things we didn’t want to do happen, as well," said Head Coach Nick Nurse. "But you know, it’s kind of that time of the year, where we got to continue clean up you know some of that."

Tyrese Maxey produced 25 points, nine rebounds, and five assists while committing only one turnover. Over his last three games, Maxey has totaled 26 assists to just four turnovers, making him the first 76er since T.J. MCCONNELL in 2015 to post such numbers over a three-game span (Stathead). 

"I think guys got aggressive," Maxey said. "I think we had to settle into the game, and then I’m going to say our defense was playing really well, really good."

76ers Beat Boston At Home, Win Sixth Straight

The Philadelphia 76ers won their fifth consecutive game with a 146-128 win over the Washington Wizards.&nbsp;&nbsp;This marks the first time since the 2020-21 season that the 76ers have posted a five-game winning streak within their first six games of a season (Stathead).

The 76ers tallied 146 points on 56 percent shooting, marking the fourth game since the 1990-91 season that the 76ers have produced at least 145 points on 55 percent shooting or better (Stathead).

JOEL EMBIID&nbsp;led Philadelphia to its fifth straight win with a 48-point ( 17-25 FG, 14-14 FT) 11-rebound and six-assist performance in 31 minutes. Per Elias Stats Bureau, Embiid is the first player in the shot clock era to post a stat line of at least 45 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in 31-or-fewer minutes played.

In his MVP career, he has six games with a stat line of at least 45 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists, tied for the 10th-most games in NBA history. Philadelphia is a perfect 6-0 in such games.

So far this season, Embiid is just the second player to post a stat line of 45-10-5, joining Dallas’&nbsp;LUKA DONCIC&nbsp;(Stathead).

Twenty-nine (10-10 FG, 9-9 FT) of Embiid’s 45 points came in the third quarter, marking the most by a 76er in a single quarter in the play-by-play era (since 1996-97). It also represents the most points in a single quarter by any player in the league this season.

This scoring outburst led Embiid to join&nbsp;KLAY THOMPSON&nbsp;(37 points, 13-13 FG, on Jan. 23, 2015) and&nbsp;LEBRON JAMES&nbsp;(24 points, 10-10 FG on Apr. 11, 2008) as the only players to shoot 100% from the floor (min. 10 FGA) in a single frame since 1996-97. Embiid also went a perfect 9-for-9 from the foul line in the period (Elias Stats Bureau).

"One turnover, should’ve probably had zero but one turnover is great. I know, one turnover, I thought I wasn’t up to par defensively today, so I got to do a better job," Embiid said of his performance. "But yeah, just taking care of the ball, taking what’s available, playing as a team, it’s funny it might look like it’s a lot of points, but I think a lot of it was just from the flow of offense, you know no iso, no posting up, just the flow of the offense."

TYRESE MAXEY&nbsp;dished out a career-high 11 assists on Monday, marking the third time that Maxey has posted at least 10 assists in a single game (PHI: 3-0), per Stathead.

Monday’s outing also marked the fourth double-double of Maxey’s career, three of which have occurred throughout his first six games in 2023-24. He is one of eight guards in the NBA this season with at least three double-doubles (NBA.com/stats).

This was the second 20-point, 10-assist game for Maxey, making him the eighth 76er under the age of 24 with multiple such games (Stathead).&nbsp;

"I just noticed one thing that stood out to me tonight," said 76ers Head Coach Nick Nurse. "He does things quickly, he inbounds the ball quickly. He cuts quickly, turns and gets his feet set quickly. Like he does things at a super quick rate and, but yet under control. But that was good. He looked full of confidence and yeah, like some of the things I see defensively too. He’s a good communicator out there."

The Philadelphia 76ers announced today details of its promotional schedule for the 2023-24 season, tipping off with Sunday night’s home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Philadelphia and 97.5 The Fanatic. All fans in attendance at The Center will receive an Opening Night T-shirt, courtesy of Independence Blue Cross.

Fans can expect a variety of promotional nights this season, including the annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by Toyota; and Pride Night, presented by The GIANT Company. Additionally, there will be 11 “Spirit of 76” nights, presented by Crypto.com. New this year, the 76ers will play two NBA In-Season Tournament games at The Center, hosting Indiana on Tuesday, Nov. 14 and Cleveland on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

For each “Spirit of 76” contest, presented by Crypto.com, the 76ers will wear their City Edition uniforms, inspired by the rich tradition of Reading Terminal Market. The team will debut this season’s City Edition uniform on Saturday, Nov. 4 vs. Phoenix.

76ers fans will be delighted to know that some of their favorite activations from last season will be back for the 2023-24 season, including the Chick-fil-A “Bricken for Chicken” promotion, betPARX Win for All promotion and the RushOrderTees T-shirt Toss.

Bricken for Chicken, presented by Chick-fil-A: The Bricken for Chicken promotion will be returning this season, generating excitement in-arena yet again. Amtrak On Track To Victory Series: Amtrak and the 76ers are teaming up again this season to send fans to two rivalry series games throughout the season. Fans will have the opportunity to win a VIP road game experience on Amtrak, including travel, hotel, and game tickets to away games against other Northeast Corridor teams. 76ers Halftime Concert Series, presented by Hennessy: The 76ers Halftime Concert Series, presented by Hennessy, is a new entertainment platform that creates a performative connection between 76ers and the culture.
