Calling all K-5 teachers!
We recognize the transformative power of youth literacy and are committed to fostering a love of reading, writing and storytelling in schools. That's why we launched the Lakers Literacy League!
This free program is designed for K-5 schoolteachers employed by a grade school or after-school program in the United States who share in our goals of improving literacy awareness and proficiency. During the 2023-2024 season, over 600 teachers participated, and we accounted for over SEVEN MILLION minutes read!
Join the Lakers Literacy League and receive special access to Lakers-themed activities for your students that will encourage the joys of literacy through fun challenges and assignments. And, as part of the Lakers Literacy League program, eligible teachers will be able to enter our Lakers Literacy League Sweepstakes for a chance to win prizes for their students!
How It Works

By submitting your information, you are registering to become a member of the Lakers Literacy League, dedicated to making literacy in the classroom FUN! It's free to join with no commitment required.
Receive
Every month from October-April, we'll email you three literacy activities to use in your classroom. Activities will be labeled Playbook 1, Playbook 2, and The Minutes Challenge.
Playbook 1 activities might require higher engagement, while Playbook 2 activities are ready to complete. The Minutes Challenge encourages students to read at least 400 minutes every month.
You can complete any of these activities (or all three!) however you see fit with your class; we empower YOU to incorporate these activities because YOU know your students best!
